Great Resources for Child Care Safety
Recently I was searching online for information about child care safety. Specifically, I wanted to see if there was a good child care safety checklist available. What I found was a site dedicated to helping keep children injury free. Knowing that safety in daycare, preschool, and early childhood programs is an important topic I wanted to share the information with you.
The Injury Free Coalition
The site I stumbled across (pun intended) is run by the Injury Free Coalition for Kids. Their site includes a section on safety topics like playground safety, daycare safety, fire safety, etc. There is a lot of good information, but you may want to jump directly to their Daycare Safety Checklist and optional PowerPoint presentation.
Other Safety Resources
There are many online resources for child care safety, but some are more comprehensive and come from more reliable sources than others. Here are a few of my favorites.
US Consumer Products Safety Commission
National Network for Child Care
University of Nebraska

I recommend using SafetyCaps.
They are wider and ventilated to reduce the chance of choking!
Thanks for the information George. SafetyCaps.com offers child safe covers for electrical outlets. George is a friend from CCVillage.net. If you haven’t been there yet check it out. CCVillage is a great networking site for people in the child care business.
