Daycare Payroll – Federal Tax Table Changes
Per IRS Notice 1036 the amount to withhold from payroll checks for U.S. Federal Income Tax has changed effective immediately. The changes also affect the Earned Income Tax Credit. The IRS asks employers to begin using these tables as soon as possible but no later than April 1, 2009.
For those of you using Procare as your Daycare Payroll Software you’ll be pleased to know the changes are available right away by downloading a tax table update.
Just follow these simple steps:
Roll Call for Children with More than One Class
Does your child care center, daycare or preschool have children who are enrolled in more than one class? Or perhaps you run a before and after school program where children are in different classes in the morning and after school. If so, you’ll be able to relate to this question recently received by ProCare Tech Support.
“We have some students enrolled in more than one class. I would like their names to appear on the roll call sheets for the primary and secondary class. Is this possible?”
The answer is yes. You can get their names on both roll call sheets, although using their Primary and Secondary classrooms is not the most appropriate way to accomplish this goal. Continue reading
Get to Know ProCare – Doug
I have been with Procare Software since 2001, almost 8 years now, and I’ve enjoyed a variety of work roles here. I started in Technical Support and a few years later, moved into the role of Software Consultant. After 2 years there, the need for offering Procare Training came up, and I was immediately interested. I love helping people learn to get the most out of their investment in Childcare Management Software, so this was a natural area of interest for me. I now have a split position within the technical support team, providing both technical support and training to our customers.
